This site is a tribute to the great military and commercial aircraft of the past, and to those who designed, built, flew, and serviced them. We respect the efforts and sacrifices of the military officers and airmen in restoring peace through victory in World War II, and the job they performed in maintaining peace during the Cold War.
Enjoy your flight back to the past!
Military aircraft and commercial airliners have limited lifespans. Aircraft "boneyards" in the western United States serve two functions: temporary storage, and scrapping.

We also report on Post-WWII aircraft boneyards, storage and disposal facilities such as Pyote, Walnut Ridge, Albuquerque, Ontario, Clinton and Altus.

For those interested in planes of the past, there are indeed lots of military DVDs, photographs, and commercial aviation books. But we find that the best way to understand aviation history is to see it up close and personal. To see the planes, touch them, sense their size and purpose.
And the best way to actually view vintage planes is at air museums, and air shows, and we frequent both on every opportunity!
We are currently highlighting several renown air museums which we highly recommend, including:
Be sure to also view our highlights of Arizona aviation history museums and attractions.
